| Biography |
| |
2Play aka Wesley Johnson was born in London, England in 1977 and has lived there all his life. He has always had a passion for music at a very early age,
2Play's music career started in 1994, DJ'ing in bars, clubs and on local radio stations. He became a household name very quickly.
It was through DJ'ing that gave him the urge to get into production. He contacted all the major record companies and did lots of work unpaid! But through persistence and hard work, soon went on to remix for Misteeq, Michael Jackson, Stargate, Canela (Destiny's Child) plus many more.
In 2002 2Play was asked to do a mix of Turn Me On by Kevin Lyttle. This was the turning point. The mix was huge and was quickly branded as having a unique 2Play sound, mixing elements of reggae, dancehall and R'n'B.
2Play was then signed to a record label in 2003 and released his first single 'So Confused' which featured the vocal talents from Raghav & Jucxi D. This went on to be another club anthem and spent a total of 6 weeks in the top ten of UK's national charts and earned 2Play a MOBO Award for best collaboration.
2004 saw 2Play release another single 'It Can't Be Right' enlisting Raghav & Juxci D once more. This was also a huge club record and went top ten in the charts.
2Play has just finished his debut album, which is due for release summer 2010. He has also been co-writing for various other artists such as JLS, Jay Sean, Maxi Priest, Simon Webbe, Ava Leigh (Mad About The Boy) plus more.
